发帖数: 21 | 1 I am applying for anesthesiology residency. Should I apply for both
categorical and advanced programs? Does it increase my chances to apply for
both categorical and advanced programs? What I am concerned with is that if
I apply for both, then, the program may only consider the advanced program
for me. Then, I need to find a pgy-1 year myself for my anesthesiology
residency. Is it true? I really appreciate if somebody knows the answer to
the question.

Anesthesiology residency对Non-US IMG只有4%的录取率。120多program，7-8百人每
年，而招外国人就30多个。而且有一小部分还是原来在麻醉实验室工作的一些postdoc
，混熟了人家才破例给了个名额。大家讨论讨论。 | B****u

categorical and advanced.
If you apply for advanced, no matter you apply for categorical or not, you
need to apply for pgy-1 year. | B****u

program at the same time, scrambling for an unfilled pgy-1 spot is what
people would do. If eventually you cannot secure a prelim. spot, you may not
be able to keep your advanced one. |
