发帖数: 54 | 1 I just received my report and I passed cs. I learned lots from the others
and I promised to myself I would share no matter pass or fail when I got the
score. Now I got the score and pretty high performance, I can say what I
think about this exam. But it could be my own thinking, 大家自己衡量. Here
is my brief prepared process:
I prepared around 7 weeks parttime. the first 2 weeks, I spent 2-3 hrs on
weekday and 5-6 hr on weekend to get to understand what is cs and which
material I need to use and search for the other people's protocol. Then I
spend another 3 weeks to read FA, I carefully studies FA and got the whole
idea why this question should be asked and how asked normally without wired
sound. These 3 weeks were very productive and slowly I got the idea to ask
questions and understand the concept of cs. Then 10 days fulltime, practise
with another 2 ladies, 2-3 hr/day. The last day, I practised with my
husband and fully mimiced the situation and we did 7 cases that day. In my
preparation, I have lots doubt and uncertain about this exam and I didn't
attend any preparation class as no vacation days to be used. I look back and
list following my Q &A and hope it can be helpful to the other people. I
thank Pony for her great talk and answering my questions numerous times. I
thank Yan and Rui for their accomany in the preparation.
Q: which materials are for cs
A: best is FA espcially first 31 cases. They are essential and if you
understand them totally, you should be ok. I did register UW but I just
glanced the cases at the last week and never practised them. For first aid
cases, you need to understand totally why this question is asked and 举一反3
. For example, I remember I find whever pt falled, you need to ask “do you
hurt your head? Do you lose consciousness? Do you see a doctor?
Q: how many times you need to practise with SP
A: I am not big fan to practise without thinking, --can be my own opinion. I
rather understand the questions before I practise. I didn’t practise too
much with the other people. I practised with one CMG 2 times, 2-3hr/time at
the beginning. Then I practised with two CMG ladies 2-3 hr /week for 2 weeks
or so and the last week practise only 4 hr/day. My augument is if you don
’t know what should ask, even you practise, it is not improved quickly.
Q: how you handle the time
A: It is pretty tricky and we always worry that time issue. prepare your PE
within time, you need to know which PEs you can do within 3min, which you
can do 1min. You can’t control the time when you talk with someone, you don
’t want to rush pt and it is hard to predict how long it has passed when
talking to pt. I start to time myself when I talk to SP but it is really
hard for me to control time. Then I found this solution: we can control PE
time easily and I prepare 3min PE and 1min PE and I use 5 minutes warning as
a sign and if I don’t finish half PE in the 5 min warning, I just do one
more 1 min PE and I still have 4 min closure. In the real exam, I have only
one case I didn’t wash my hand at 5 min warning, I decided to play safe and
I just did 1 min PE-abdomen exam not do anything else, even this case, I
did have 1 min left.
Q: do you need to ask all PMH –
A: yes, you can practise to have all these general stuff done by 2 min.
Q: what PE you should do
A: I always have this worry as I didn’t attend any class and just watch UW
PE. I think you don’t need to do too many exams, 1 c/o related, 1 other
system. In the real exam, I didn’t do fundoscopy or some time consuming
exam, I basically use only 2min to finish the PE and I was always earlier to
go out.
