is well paid off. -- i know people will think this is BSO, but i can't help, sorry.
first thanks my family for the great support! and all the helps and advices from all the friends here, especially the friends we studied together, I really appreciate all the helps from you guys!
Material: kaplan note+MTB(step3)+FA+UW+kaplan Q bank
Prep time: study with a busy full-time job. on-and-off for the first 6 mon, distracted by cs, work, and family reasons. studied really hard in the last 3 mon. Lessons: keep going after you start the study, it was really painful to study on-and-off and pick the stuff up.
Self-assessment: uw sim was the most accurate, as for my step1.
NBME2, 5mon before the exam, 520/222
NBME4, 3mon before the exam, 510/220
NBME3, 2mon before the exam, 470/223
NBME1, 5 wk before the exam, 610/256
UW sim, 8 days before the exam, 750/263
did kaplan q bank diagnostic before the UW sim, only got 74%.
CD, 3 days before exam, only got 86%, was very frustrated.
UW: 1st time online, mixed, timed, unused, 73%, but I did some offline questions before, so it was not the real 1st time. 2nd time, online, mixed, timed, 90%
Kaplan Q bank: 1st time, online, mixed, timed, unused, 68%. it only took me a week (full-time working at the same time) to finish the q bank, did not read the explanations, don't like and would not recommend.
Feeling: people often asked what is the best material, now looking back, i think kaplan note is the best. Regarding the secret book, I did buy the book but did not even finish the 1st round, some ppl recommened it but it's not for me. I did not read the popular UW notes either, it makes no sense for me to read notes made by someone else. MTB is a fantastic book but it did not cover some important content. FA is not as bad as people think, actually I like it. But overall, kaplan note is the best.
Exam: it was not bad, questions are long, but it was doable. IM was heavily tested, I was surprised to see a star for CVS since it was my weak area. I went to the prometric center at 7am and started the exam around 7:30am, did not take break after the 1st block but took brief break after each block afterwards. The exam was done around 4:30pm or 5pm (don't remember), my brain was completely empty after the exam, can't even recall what they tested me..all my impression was that a lot of questons were tricky and vague, I won't be able to find the answers even if I have had Cecil's textbook in front of me.

for a decent score until they admit my score is not bad ^-^ pure BSO~~

I just started step2 ck. Do you think it is worth to watch the kaplan videos
? If I watch the video, do I need to read the kaplan notes? I don't want
to read the books and prefer watching video, but I don't know there is much
difference bettween them.

t think it can replace reading.
