There some differences between China and here to treat breast cancer. If
highly suspected breast cancer, the best choice is back to China. |

she is 58 and noticed that lump for almost 30yrs which I think could be
obstruction of breast duct. now problem is there's nipple retraction. I
checked it and the mass is about 3X3cm in the upper quadrant. not adhere to
thoracic wall but kind of stick to skin. boundary is not so clear. there's
no enlarged axillary LNs.
I just wanna make final diagnosis by doing mammogram, or excisional biopsy
before going back to china for treatment.

Further question to be clarified:
How the mass size changes? when the nipple retraction noted? And when is
last time checked by a doctor?
If your mother is sure the mass no change in size and has been nipple
retraction for 30 ys, and has been checked recently in China, you may watch
it.
If not sure for any above question, see general surgeon ASAP for mammagram
and possible core biopsy to r/o malignancy.
If it's unfortunately maligancy, I suggest back to China for surgery, fo |

My mom said she noticed the mass for 30yrs. almost no growth. but she
noticed the nipple retraction for 2 yrs and just told me last night cause
she saw obvious change of the retraction.
I will find a general surgeon and get a final diagnosis.

involvement, that sounds very suspicious. this needs a core biopsy to get
tissue diagnosis. Mammogram is needed not for this lesion, but for
coexisting lesions and the contralateral breast, presumably she never had
one done.
for this mass, no matter what the mammogram shows, you still need tissue
diagnosis, and core biopsy seems the best way to go. fin |

Staging
Pathology
Lumpectomy or Mastectomy or modified mastectomy
ER/PgR/Her2
Chemo or not
Radiation or not
TAX or not
The main difference between China and USA is: Most patients here go to core
biopsy/lumpectomy/adjuvant chemo and or Radiation. Most patients in China go
to modified mastectomy after rapid pathology/adjuvant chemo. |
