Senior Research Chemist/Scientist
Zymeron Corporation - Research Triangle Park, NC
The Senior Research Chemist/Scientist will join the polymer drug delivery/
formulation team to conduct applied research and laboratory development work
and to commercialize a portfolio of drug delivery/formulation technologies
and products. The candidate is expected to have extensive experience working
with polymers, biopolymers, and bioconjugates of proteins, antibodies to
polymer systems and nanoparticles. The candidate will also assist the
development of bioassays to evaluate polymer formulations, communicate with
and present to customers, and write technical documents including reports
and grant proposals.
Requirement:
Education: Ph.D. in Polymer, Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry,
related discipline.
Experience: A minimum of two years of post-Doctoral research experience
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop polymers with tailored chemical functionality
Evaluate polymer interactions with biological systems and molecules i.e.
proteins.
Functionalize biopolymers including polysaccharides
Prepare drug delivery systems and formulations
Analyze and interpret technical data.
Manage laboratory instruments.
Write, review and edit technical documents.
REQUIRED KEY COMPETENCES
Ability to handle fast-paced, multi-tasking, highly dynamic R&D environment.
Ability to analyze and solve complex technical problems.
Demonstrated attention to details.
Strong self-direction and well-developed interpersonal skills.
Experience with polysaccharides e.g. hyaluronic acid and PEGs is a plus
