My professor looked at me for a few seconds, asking me if this Professor
Fu, the one who worked on Stats & JAK. I said yes and you should know him.
"Well," my professor said, "to my knowledge, he didn't get tenure at
Yale".
"How did you know that"? I was so surprised and actually I have been
shocked when I learnt from this net that he is not titled a Scientist
at Yale and have been confused for very long time why Dr. Fu couldn't

发帖数: 266 | 2 唉，很多时候的确是这样(当然不是全部)。现在看到第一作者 and or PI
都是中国人的文章，如果abstract吹得太神，通常就不敢看内容了。
不过，从另一方面讲，如果美国老板有个shit idea，非认为它work,
美国学生做不出来也无所谓，中国人往往压力大，就非要“做”出来。
归根到底还是在美搞科研中国人寄人篱下，太需要paper了。
希望不要又引发偏离版旨的大讨论。俺不想背黑锅:)
虽然看起来大家更喜欢加入抽象而非实际研究问题的讨论。

生物反应。大家不知道他们具体实验秘密，没法重复他们的结果，也不怎么怀疑呀？

发帖数: 589 | 4 是不是谣言我不知道，但我的亲身经历告诉我，很多文章的结果并不可靠，很多人为
了文章要发表，往往违造数据 （我以前就经常在excel里把曲线拉漂亮了^_^）
总而言之，发论文并不是一个很好的追求，即使发到Cell, Nature and Science. 还
是作点有意义的事情把，把真正有用的东西不断的研究，改进，以致可以推向市场，让市
场来检验你的科研成果是真金还是垃圾

Well, some people may have done this kind of fake stuff, but so far as I know,
no one can match that guy from Bell.
Since I do not do experiments, I have no idea of these people's work, but for
theory it is very easy to test the accuracy of result. The core part is not
your calculation, but your idea. I guess in experiments this may also be

Schon doesn't have any new ideas. He just claimed that he can make those ideas
real. Most his core ideas were proposed by those theorists before.

我硕士毕业时，用OPT在学校拿了一阵子钱，当时号称是Professional职位，现在还没
搞懂是什么，是不是就是这种Research Scientist
