Normal manufacturing methods will be useless. Nanosystems will have to
build themselves. "You have to use things like replication or evolution or
self-assembly or self-repair," said Warren Packard, a Silicon Valley venture
capitalist who has invested in the field. "We need to figure out how to grow
systems versus build systems."
几天前我说这话时,怎么没人信呢?我怀疑Warren Packard经常到买卖提来看我的帖
子。哈哈。

a***n 发帖数: 578 | 2 you point over RNA to build nanosystem is a too old idea (actually ppl are
publishing ton of junks at this area by using single chain DNA).
and it is common sense to realize that packaging problem is the bottleneck
problem. Each year there are tons of science papers in this area.
hohoho...

exactly, only crystal with no defects can display optimal, controllable and
predictable properties. The wire from DNA, how can I say, I suspect if it has
any technique value except scientific one.

hoho. maybe you like talk about current technology or 1-2 year later
technology. But I am interested at technology ten years ahead. that is the
difference between scientists and engineers.

c*s 发帖数: 2145 | 10 hehe, what we talked about here is microscopic crystal, not industrial scale
crystal like single srytal silicon.
using Vapor Liquid Transportation like Peidong Yang's work as examples, PPL
have obtained massive amount, well alligned, and highly crystalline
semiocnductor nanowires. I believe a <5% polydispersity of nanowire dimension
is technically very possible.
