What's the physical meaning of these two assumptions respectively?
1. in the limit of large N (infinity) and large pN (i.e., p not very small)
which gives Gaussian distribution;
and
2. in the limist of large N (infinity) and small p (pN << N)
which gives Poisson distribution.
