when some people study partial differential equations, they use a key tool --
entropy, which correspond, of course to the one in stat. phys.
Buy constantly, they assume that:
(E, V) -> S is convex.
This means that as a function of E and V, S has positive definite Hessian.
Is there any physical interpretation of this.
