There are 2-3 Ph.D. openings with full financial support (RA positions
available) from Fall 2019 working with Professor Shanbin Shi in the
Department of Mechanical, Aerospace, and Nuclear Engineering at Rensselaer
Polytechnic Institute.
Prof. Shi’s research interests focus on: (1) thermal-hydraulics and reactor
safety, (2) single- and multi-phase thermo-fluids dynamics, (3) two-phase
flow experiments and modeling, and (4) two-phase thermosyphon or passive
heat pipe.
Dr. Shi is seeking highly motivated graduate students who demonstrate solid
scientific strength in heat transfer and fluid mechanics. The priority will
be given to the students who have strong experiences and interests in the
above-identified areas and pursue a Ph.D. degree at RPI. If you have
