发帖数: 22 | 1 Sorry I cannot type in Chinese,though I really prefer to use Chinese to
explain my situation clearly.
I am in my 30's,married,one child (2 years old),no status problem in job
hunting.
I Majored in mechanical manufacure and equipment during my study for B.S.
from a well known university in China,then got a M.S.degree practically
without major. The project I did for my M.S. degree was a fluid equipment
design with Matlab, it was really nothing to mention about.
I also have a M.S. degree in USA from a well know university last year.The
project I did for this degree was a kind of FEA simulation. Practically, no
major again.
Now I am taking a low paid job totally irrelevant to my Degrees,since around
the small town where my husband works, there's hardly any job for me.This
is the first job I have ever taken in USA. At the very beginning when we
moved here, we didn't expect my husband would worked here more than half a
year,so I took the job I am doing now.But now, it seems we'll have to stay
here one more year, so I don't want to do the job I am doing anymore.
The question is, I have no idear which career field I should go into based
on my study experience. Can anyone help me on that?

I am not afraid of distance within 2hour's drive. Just wondering which field
I should enter. I got my B.S. degree many years ago, pretty out of date now
. I took some courese on FEA in USA, but did no programming, just used
software packages.
I have no confidence on what I can do,and truely lost in career orentation.

Could you please explain in detail? such as the name of the mechanical
companies,what kind of software packages they use, what kind of design?
I totally have no idea what I can do

发帖数: 565 | 6 没身份问题，去找找类似supplier quality engineer的职位，能看懂图纸，就行，机
械本科没问题的， pay的也不错，没事去Asia转转。
还可以试试test engineer，愿意从junior 干起，也没问题。
再不行，凭你的FEA基础, 没有身份的压力，去找个contractor 的FEA 分析工作，不要
太简单。
Mechanical Engineering 的范畴太广了，只要愿意当个螺丝钉，很多地方欢迎的 ：）

发帖数: 22 | 7 非常感谢！原来还有这些行业可以做。我以前都不知道。我想都试试看。
还要请问 contractor 的FEA 分析工作一般是什么title？
我脱离学校的氛围太久了，本科是十几年前毕业的，后来种种情况，也有不少年闭塞在
家里。再后来F1来这里上学，做FEA的应用，但却是在跟工程不相关的系里做的，完全
没有engineering的学习环境。说个笑话，我FEA 4字开头和5字开头的课都上过，4字课
和5字课的前半部分都学的很不错，可最后5字课final peoject编程序的时候，如果不
是打听，都不知道别人都是用什么语言。
可是我却想好好找个工作，还想今后在工作上好好发展。就是不知道哪个方向合适。因
为两个硕士都算不上有什么专业，我很没信心。我甚至愿意再读个有专业的MS，然后工
作时再读个phd，只要有个好的专业（毕业后工作机会多，pay的不错，不需要经常出差
。。？？？想象不出工作的情况啊），我觉得我有能力和毅力去努力。-------我是不
是想的不切实际呢？
说实话，我也是从小好好读书乖孩子那种类型，现在这样没个正经工作很沮丧。

发帖数: 565 | 9 你的情况，千万别再读书要学位了。。3个硕士+没相关经验，谁敢要
自学一下当下通用的FEA软件 （Abaqus, ANSYS, and etc),看看网上别人的resume, 对
应的去学习相关的term， 知识。。去找工作，边工作边学。。。
你要是男生的话，我会推荐去修车铺打工， 把基本的工具用熟，起码英文对应的名称
知道。。

I am a female. Auto Service might not be proper for me. Maybe FEA related
position is better. Learning while working is also what I have been thinking
about,it's a good idea.
After two days of searching and all your suggestions, I am clearer about
what I should do.
