i********e 发帖数: 5996 | 1 Last night I have read the first two chapters of the Book “The Autobiograph
y of Madame Curie” in Chinese version. Chapter 1 is about Madame Curie’s g
row-up experience. I found from the chapter that it is not late to study thi
ngs you are interested in, no matter how old you are. Even if you are 24 yea
rs old when you go to university as a freshman, as Madame Curie did, you sti
ll have the opportunity to be a physicist or an expert in any other specific
field. It is important that you should find what you are really interested
in and good at, and want to dedicate your life to. Furthermore, studying in
school is not the only way to learn knowledge, but self-studying is a good w
ay too. Although one may not learn systematically all knowledge he needed, t
he way of self-studying will help him to effectively absorb any knowledge he
would like to acquire and help him positively learn things in all his life.
In Chapter 2, Madame Curie talked about research experiences of her husband
Pierre and her. In spite of extremely poor experimental environment, they en
joyed very much about their research work, on which they spent too much time
to have energy to make friends. In their limited spare time, they would rat
her choose to go out to mountains or suburb to relax by bicycle. Because of
their great effort on studying characteristics of radiation rays and radiati
on elements, they were granted the Nobel Physics Prize in 1903. The prize br
ought great prestige to them, but meanwhile brought tremendous disturbs to t
heir research work as a number of people want to meet and interview them. Af
ter Pierre unfortunately died in an accident in 1904, Madame Curie won the N
obel Chemistry Prize all by herself in 1911. Madame Curie was respectable an
d was the excellent example of the humankind, for her great spirits in dedic
ating all her life in the Science. The most important thing which I learned
from Chapter 2 is that one should do the best in his own work, which contrib
utes the best to our society. | N****f 发帖数: 25759 | 2 Looking forward to Chapters 3 and 4. :-) | G*********o 发帖数: 49669 | 3 英文写作炉火纯青,非常流畅,用词也很丰富。
