发帖数: 25759 | 1 I went to see "War Horse" over the weekend, and I regret to report
that Steven Spielberg has gone mainstream Hollywood, at least for
the time being. Unlike his groundbreaking masterpieces such as
"Saving Private Ryan" and "Schindler's List," this one is warm and
fuzzy all over, in the typical old-fashioned Hollywood way, and
filled to the rim with Hallmark and Kodak moments that make you
go "awwwwww" instead of "Jesus freaking Christ!" In fact, this was
so readily apparent from the trailer and the still shots that I felt it
would be a suitable movie outing for my 3.75-year-old daughter,
and old Steven did not disappoint.
Don't get me wrong: It is a good movie, highly entertaining, and
rich in awe-inspiring imagery, clever plot twists, and very likable
characters whose fates are unfortunately but a few tiny pebbles in
the path of a humongous war machine. Still, when all is said and
done, I believe this one belongs to the masses of movie directors
collectively known as Hollywood, not someone with a truly unique
mind like Steven Spielberg. |
