The man suspected of killing at least 12 and injuring dozens of others in
the Aurora, Colo., movie theater shooting graduated from UC Riverside, the
university confirmed to the Los Angeles Times.
James Eagan Holmes, 24, grew up in San Diego and graduated from Westview
High School in 2006.
"The University of California, Riverside can confirm that a person by this
name graduated from UCR with a BS in neuroscience in the Spring of 2010."

Holmes' last known address in California was at the University Iowa Gardens
Apartments less than a mile from UC Riverside.
Maintenance worker Jose Torres, 45, said he remembered Holmes as a quiet
person who kept mostly to himself.
"He didn't talk too much," Torres said. “Friendly? No."

The complex has 100 apartments, the vast majority of which are occupied by
UC Riverside students. Holmes lived at the apartment in 2009, according to
The Times' research. Apartment manager Terry Barrera said people come and go
at the complex almost every six months, making it difficult to keep track
of the people who lived there.
She said she had no records available on Holmes.
The complex has a red tile roof and swimming pools, and appears quiet and
well-kept.
Robert Gallardo, a sociology graduate student at UC Riverside, said most of
the residents at the complex are international students.
"It's very quiet. There are no major parties," said Gallardo, who lives next
door to Holmes' former apartment unit, a utilitarian one-bedroom, one-
bathroom unit overlooking an alleyway.
