具体信息如下：
Henninger Flats, at 2,600' above sea level, can be seen from the parking lot
at Eaton Canyon Park. It is the lowest flat area with conifer trees
between the nearest peaks to the northeast. While there, take advantage of
the rest rooms, drinking fountain, picnic area, and Visitor's Center. There
is also a plant nursery on the premises. Be aware that there is little or
no shade along the trails until you reach the Flats. Camping is available
by permit.
Take the Toll Road all the way from the Pinecrest gate (total distance: 2.7
miles each way - fairly strenuous). To get to the Pinecrest gate, go north
on Altadena Drive one mile past the entrance to Eaton Canyon. Turn right on
Crescent, then right again on Pinecrest. Observe parking signs carefully.

Enter Eaton Canyon through the Pinecrest gate, walk down into the canyon and
head up the clearly visible dirt road. Head up to Henninger Flats, site of
the L.A. County Experimental Forestry Nursery. The nursery produces tree
seedlings (Monterey pine, cedar, Sequoia, knobcone pine) to reforest the San
Gabriels after fires. There’s a visitor’s center, campground, water and
picnic areas set among fine old trees. This is a fire-road hike, not a trail
, and it gets a lot of sun, so it’s best in the cooler months or early on
summer mornings. On a clear day, you’ll see forever!
Driving Directions: Go north on Altadena Dr. from either the 210 Freeway or
your Pasadena location. Turn right on Crescent. Turn right on Pinecrest. You
’ll see a gate to the trail entrance on the right; park on a side street.

这条路线风景不错又简单，最适合一家老小出动. | v******f

上写的都是爬升2600mile?看来大家都被俺着数据给惊着了吧，哈哈。咋没人报名呢？

level,是绝对高度，爬升应该是相对高度吧

发帖数: 561 | 9 这个trail 基本上板上经常hiking都走过，刚看了斯汀同学的贴，还在原地
打转，本周俺不去了，可能还是去这个hennginger flat trail。
考虑到停车，最佳的停车和集合地点为：
34.184037,-118.101605
来回标准大约是 5 miles， 爬升大约是1500feet，路上有点晒，早一点
出发比较好。
上了flat 之后，还是有不少充满情趣的小trail可以走的。 | v******f

这个就是菜鸟的表现，希望大家不要笑话俺！欢迎大家来跟这个菜鸟上山。考虑到很多
同学从不同地方来，还是定到早上10：30。
