得要3.9 or 4.0了，这真让我刮目相看，而且据说该校的什么排名直线上升，已经超过

发帖数: 620 | 4 USC的学生私立高中毕业的比例肯定比UCLA的高。UCLA很多学生才是自“美国学生基础
太烂的公立高中”毕业的。
高中的时候没法支持念私立高中的自然大学也申请公立大学，念私立高中的都喜欢申请
私立大学。念公立高中的人数远比念私立高中的人数多，所以申请公立大学的人数多也
很正常。

发帖数: 4594 | 7 那群小孩也是这种说法，其中一个在两个学校都上过学的对UCLA 极为鄙视，说公立大
学就是个factory， 学校只是丢本书给你自己去念，学生来来往往的就像是流水线，自
己自求多福。
那里边有个女孩为了省钱早毕业，一个学期选了7门课，把眼睛都快读瞎了，她拿到另
外一个很好的哦佛，但因为眼睛的原因没敢去。

发帖数: 4594 | 8 我邻居老头是南加大的解剖学教授，家门口常年树着两面旗，一面是国旗，一棉当然就
是南加大校旗，去年他兄弟去世他在家开爬梯（奇怪吧，去世是开爬梯的），来了几百
号人，其中大多数看着像南加大的白小本，穿着他们的校涕血，还有就是教职员工，
开着印有特洛伊标志的大车小车皮卡把整个小区塞得满满的。

university overall ranking) ? private schools dominate the ranking in US
News. Best public school ranked 20 something if I am not mistaken.
If we leave the funding out of the ranking, there is no way USC out rank
UCLA. And for the tuition gap, I hope you aren't serious. 42000 vs 12000.

like crazy while cutting budgets and pays. Check UCLA website, 12000 is
barely half of tuition and UCLA has probably more fees than USC so as to
raise money. We are not in 2003 anymore.

发帖数: 1461 | 13 We need to fill 2 spots in our team recently. 80% of applicants are SC grads.
Most of them are really really bad. I asked why we aren't getting any ucla
applicants and our HR told me that they weren't actively recruiting in
westwood since ucla grads don't usually apply jobs in my industry anyway....
A team member (sc grad and hard core Trojan fan) had to yell at a few
candidates during the interview since it is getting embarrassing.

发帖数: 892 | 23 sorry, remembered the total cost number instead of the official "tuition". I
am not a USC student nor alumni, just had some conversation with a dean
from UC system, who thinks the system is really struggling. For example, UC
is reducing in-state admissions and increasing out-of-state admissions just
to increase revenue despite the fact of tuition raise and fee raise. We
probably will have a better view 5 years later.

发帖数: 247 | 29 USC在USNews上的排名已经超过UCLA两年了，尽管之前也只落后一名，但超越的主要原
因是peer assessment加上了高中老师的打分。
过去只计入大学主管的投票，由于UCLA深耕学术圈已久，科研成果卓越，所以优势明显。
可是高中的老师更接近年轻学生，跟风快，打分能更迅速反应大学的变化，而且USC面
向全国招生，可能在地域上也占优势。
另一方面，这也反应出提高科研水平需要更长时间的努力。不过就本科教学而言USC应
该不低于UCLA，学生整体素质较高，水平平均，能有较好的互动。UCLA学费便宜，理科
（数学，物理，化学，经济，等等）强大，所以也会招收到优秀学生，但作为公立学校
不可避免的会接受很多需要政府照顾的学生，所以它的bottom half会差得不得了，这
是所有UC都有的问题
