attic? I know many homes are equipped with fire alarms, but most of them are
inside the house. When the fire has burned through the roof and fire alarms
start (if still functional), it may be too late.
What is the best practice? |

photodetectors are prone to false alarm due to dust/hair in unfinished area,
others argued that heat detectors also are easy to set off by sun shine or
heated air duct.
So, I am wondering what about ionization type sensors. Any reason not to use
them?

That's why 200 degree heat detector in order to avoid false alarm. Anyways
you should not install it too close to sun or heated duct.(even so it should
not go as high as 200 degree) |

And you should know, for some houses, furnaces are installed in the attic.
