clean off the old paint is always necessary.
choose different paint for metal or wood. for exterior rails, oil based
paint is preferred. |

发帖数: 1052 | 4 oil based paint is actually easier to reach desired effect. the dry time
for oil based paint is a lot longer than water based, which allows you more
time to workon the brush to make the paint smoother. the only part people
hate is cleaning. you have to use miniral spirits to clean your brush.
sanding down on the rails is the most difficult part. I just painted a
metal rail. I used stripper, and then sand it down. Honestly, I didn't
clean it thoroughly. Too much work! I used bondo primer. Hope the paint
will stay.

you will waste a lot, but saves a lot of time and smooth surface. |

要刷屋檐那麻烦大了，二楼的太高了。忧郁中

do it.

我决定买最便宜的刷子，刷完一次就扔。mineral spirits也要花钱买……

发帖数: 1052 | 9 don't use the cheapest brush which will not give you the desired effect.
you can use cheapest brush for primer, and at least middle priced (around $
10) for the paint work.

年刷一次。大家讨论讨论，一般多久需要刷一次？有没有比较耐用省事的油漆？
