Stand alone is not an option because of beauty consideration.
For attached one, I have quite some concerns.
Will that damage or potentially damage the house.
Such as termites invade the house through the path of
wood patio cover connection to the house.
Also the rain may leak or infiltrate into the house structure.
Any good advice? I think I have to forgone the patio cover. | h***b 发帖数: 1233 | 2 all your concerns are legit nonetheless, you have to make compromise. patio
cover is exposed so there's always issue w/ termite.
what are the benefits you think? i assume you like to have one...
if in OC/LA, i know a good landscape guy. just redid mine last yr.

I live in San Diego and our backyard is south facing.
The sun is very strong and it may get quite hot there
in the summer. And the patio cover will enhance the
looking of our backyard.
But on the other side, the house is a new construction,
so, I really don't want to touch it. For stand alone
patio cover, due to the shape of our house, the supporting
pole has to put outside of a side window, and will sure
look bad.
I think I will forgone the patio cover for now.
