We are looking at one property these days and in serious discussion with the
seller. In the disclosure, the seller said that they have patched several
cracks in the basement with hydraulic cement to stop seepage. Today we went
into the basement to do another review. While we feel the basement is kind
of dry, we did see several horizontal and vertical cracks with water stains.
We took six pictures for some big ones (see attached file). Could you do me |

settling process during the early time (around 3-4 yrs after being built).
How reliable is such claim?
Another question: how can we tell if water stains are new or old?

地基墙上出现裂缝不是正常现象，肯定不对。

不过他们说只要不是凹陷了,都可以修好,我有一个朋友的房子也是地基出现裂缝,花了
5000块钱修理.
最好找一个好的inspector吧

发帖数: 146 | 8 vertical cracks less than 1/4" should be ok. cracks come out after 3-5 years
of new construction are normal. |

and doesn't have bad smell. So like to know how to tell if the water stains
on these cracks happened long time ago (no more after patch) or just
recently.
