In short, take two bolts off, lift the old one out, clean out the old wax
ring (most dirty part), put in a new wax ring (they make non wax version now
), sit the new toilet on, tighten two bolts, you are done. That is for one
piece toilet, if you have two piece toilet you install the bowl first and
bolt the tank to it later, it is lighter to move that way. Connect the water
line (reverse what you take off step)

then seal the whole circle.
if u seal it too early u cant find the leak.

Depending on your toilet color and floor color, you may want to pick a caulk
color that is clear.

to expose the leak in case there is one. It is code in il.
