for movies, you'd better subscribe with netflix or blockbuster for the best
bang for your money.

发帖数: 282 | 3 surprisingly (to me at least), I found starz has the most new, popular
movies. Starz Saturday night used to be our family's weekly entertainment
(because of young kid, can not go out).
HBO has some relation with cinemax bah. I saw bunch of movies shown on
both packages. heck, i think they are even provided as in one package.
It has the most completed offer. best original series, best hit movies
(not as many popular movies as starz, but usually the best ones). one of
the best boxing program.

发帖数: 80 | 4 我个人喜欢HBO,主要是它的orginal program(e.g. sex and
city)做得好，尤其是一些documentry,看看每年基本都是它得各种奖。至于它放的电影，
口味偏liberal，不象showtime更多的大众化（当然也有很多大片放），cinemax
有些soft porn,
starz没看过，估计象showtime.

发帖数: 4483 | 5 呵呵，STARZ比较新。不过说实在，也就新几个礼拜，然后其他几个台就
都开始放了。基本上一个片子进了CABLE，大家都是一拨风样的放，前后
差得时间不多。无心可以去搞个MOVIE GUIDE，当地的报纸星期天版里就
有，可以看看各个台都在放什么，呵呵。。 | r***r

movies), HBO and Cinemax belong to the same company now. HBO has some original
programming, not only movies. Showtime/TMC has a little bit of both.
In general, if you want HD and the package is not too expensive(probably you
also need a DVR), it's OK. Otherwise, it's not as good/convenient as
netflix/etc(for SD stuff). | b*******e
发帖数: 4483 | 7 ENCORE的电影挺新的呀。而且，你会发现HBO和SHOW的电影满接近，比如一个
电影掉到CABLE了，HBO和SHOW相差最多一两个礼拜就都会放，但ENCORE经常
放一些和那几个很不一样的，而且也满新，满不错的电影的呀。。
