Your Home's Assessment
Question: Here in Cypress, Texas, developers are carving up large ranches into
55-foot lots as fast as they can sell them. I closed on a house in May 2000.
By June 2003, our property-tax assessment had increase by 50%. We fought the
assessment and successfully reduced our home's valuation in 2004 by 16%. The
tax board told us to save our presentation because we would need it next year
