发帖数: 1028 | 1 My daughter want to install ubuntu on her netbook (no cdrom) to learn.
I mounted the install cd (from iso image download) on my tftp server.
Now she can boot up using network (PXE) and she can see all the install
files for ubuntu, but not sure which file to run to kick off the install (
kind of like winnt is used to install windows)

she wants to "learn"?

发帖数: 1028 | 4 That is what I used before, but both usb port on her laptop is broken and
there is no CDROM. Wired and wireless network are both working.
I have used pxe boot to install windows many times, just not sure which
executable to run first to kick of the linux install.
That is why I come to ask here on this board.

发帖数: 21578 | 5 still you can use grub4dos to boot into Linux installation media
google ubuntu installation from net or hd media
just need to download a kernel image, a net or hd installation media
then setup windows boot options to load grub to load it.
i usually do this on my old computer.
