with versio fios wireless router, can I config router so that my desktop
would
always be assigned a fix ip such as 192.168.1.10 (could potentially mapped
by
mac address)?
Thanks! |

DHCP range. Set router address to be 192.168.0.1
2) on your computer, turn off the DHCP, instead use static IP:
192.168.0.10
for netgate:192.168.0.1
for mask: 255.255.255.0
for DNS: you can use 192.168.0.1 or 8.8.8.8 (google's free DNS service) |

You can assign ip-address base on Mac address.
It is still DHCP, but the DHCP server will give it
static ip address and perform dns entry as well. |

Found a option from router where I can use static dhcp, which is good so
far for the intranet purpose.
