又听说linux内核老早就实现了trim,那是不是也要SSD厂商更新firmware呢?
如果一个SSD支持(被支持)win7的trim,是不是肯定也支持(被支持)linux的trim呢?

Unfortunately the ATA TRIM command hasn’t been finalized yet, and so (as of
today) there are no drives, including Intel’s SSD’s that actually support
the ATA TRIM command; and for this reason Linux’s block device layer does
not currently issue the ATA TRIM command, since there haven’t been any
devices to test the command.
现在情况如何呢?OCZ和intel都放出了支持trim的firmware,那么linux里面是不是就
可以直接利
用了呢?

at the moment the only OS with out-of-box trim
support is win7. It works on linux if you have 2.6.28+
and hdparm 9.2+, but it's not automatic. You have to
run some wiper script periodically (like from a cron
job).
Also OCZ's firmware appears to have their own version
of "trimming" that reportedly works well enough with
any OS.
