想买一个 pci ide (or sata) adapter card.
我想把OS装到pic card上的硬盘上，并从这个硬盘启动，
会有问题马？

主板有时候可以识别到硬盘，有时候不行，所以打算试一试adapter card.

有可能能认出转换器上的硬盘但是不能从那里启动

if yes, then it could be just your BIOS settings.
I had a similar problem: mother board could not recognize harddisk hence
could not boot, but it is available in liveCD.
Change BIOS option on harddisk type, then it's back on. |

The harddrive sometimes can be recognized by my bios as a 8G disk
(it is in fact 500G, but I know how to deal with this problem)
I know how to install linux/windows, as I did with my another old PC.
More often, it can not be recognized (shown as [] in the bios, but it shown
as ~3G disk if I press "enter"). In this case, bios assume I have no
harddisk.
I can not belive the I can mount the harddisk under liveCD if my bios

about it and it is gone already.
try to put it in a usb external box and see if hd can be read and backed up.

Maybe I can try to boot from usb with linux on it.

发帖数: 2421 | 15 pci - ide card works. pci-sata also works. To boot from it, you need your
BIOS support it. Your ultimate solution is still upgrade BIOS, otherwise,
you have to rely on your USB drive to launch grub. Also a solution though.
