我的理解是以后启动linux就自动帮你在后台启动了emacs，好处是第一次启动emacs也

Are you trying to use VNC to accomplish emacs server? That is a serious
overkill.
server-start is an interactive compiled Lisp function in `server.el'.
(server-start &optional LEAVE-DEAD)
Allow this Emacs process to be a server for client processes.
This starts a server communications subprocess through which
client "editors" can send your editing commands to this Emacs
job. To use the server, set up the program `emacsclient' in the
Emacs distribution as your standard "editor".

No, VNC accomplishes a lot more than emacs server.
Any special tool would be cheaper than a generic tool, but it doesn't mean
inventing your own solution is always a good idea.
Just use VNC, and perserve everything you want. Not just emacs.

候还是很
郁闷。23.1可以说是做了个emacs server的server，由此可见，懒人无极限啊

然后，在 VNC 里起 gnome-terminal，里面再挂 screen。这样，无论是图形界面还是
text-mode 都可以。

那emacs daemon就一年帮你省4分钟，呵呵。
emacs daemon和vnc不是替代的关系，是互补吧，就是说下次
你在terminal里面新建了个vnc，再用realvnc登录到gnome的
时候emacs server已经right there for you了。

server 难道不就是该把干活用到的都起来，然后一直搁在那里么？

换个新的：有没有经历过vnc死机？我有一次server没有重启，开在那里
的2个vnc都死了，损失惨重。

以一般没有真正的损失。这都是当年用盗版 word 打论文打 paper 养成的习惯。

化X窗口和读取X有关的设置。在我看来的确是daemon比较好（has some glitches, but
fixable)。 |
