偶然读到贝多芬把自己的第30首钢琴奏鸣曲，作品109題献给好友女儿的信，开始有这
么一句：
…… Es ist der Geist, der edle u. bessere Menschen auf diesem Erdenrund
zusammenält, u. keine Zeit den zerstören kann, dieser ist es, ……
[它即是这样的精神，将这世上所有高尚与美好的人维系在一起的精神，是时间所不能
磨灭的精神，而这精神即是它，……]
想起印象中比较深的这首十四行诗：
SONNET 55
Not marble, nor the gilded monuments
Of princes, shall outlive this powerful rhyme;
But you shall shine more bright in these contents
Than unswept stone, besmear'd with sluttish time.
When wasteful war shall statues overturn,
And broils root out the work of masonry,
Nor Mars his sword nor war's quick fire shall burn
The living record of your memory.
'Gainst death and all-oblivious enmity

"A dedication!!!--well this is not one that is misused as in many cases-- It
is the spirit which holds together noble and better men on this earth and
which can never be destroyed by time. This is what is now addressed to you
and that recalls you to me as you were in your childhood years, so equally
your beloved parents, your admirable and gifted mother, your father filled
with truly good and noble qualities, and ever mindful of his children. Thus
at this very moment I am on the Landstrasse--and see all of you before me.
