前阵子开车听广播听到这首歌，有点讶异，回家后找了youtube，果然是the giving
tree。最早知道这个故事是源于喜欢Shel Silverstein，他既是一位诗人，又是一位作
曲家，他还是一位歌者和漫画家。最早知道他的一部作品是“The missing piece”。
他的作品很简单，却富含哲理，值得一读再读。The giving tree也是一部耐人寻味的
作品，不同的人能读出不同的味道。曾经读给我自己听，后来读给女儿听，当时女儿还
小，很多道理她还不懂，可是她也很喜欢。
我个人感觉这首歌的风格和书的风格太不同了，书里用简单的漫画，简单的语句，简单
的道理叙述了不简单的人生，让人可以安静地思考无声无息的奉献，而歌曲所表达的却
是一种激烈的感情，期待对方听到的一种呐喊，也许那只是一夜就会燃尽的爱。 |

过shel silverstein的不少儿童诗，我也贴过他的giving tree和一支挺有争议的歌a
boy named sue，我们版还争论了一下，有人觉得歌里的爸太不是个东西，父子间的关
系是变态扭曲的。我可以接受。各人的道德底线很不一样。这还只是一首歌。
