有个公司找上门来要一天兼职,给一定补偿,说是compensation for your time and
effect,但是要求有work authorization and SSN to receive financial
compensation
这种compensation可以收么?难道要办一天cpt??
另外,我记得不论收不收compensation,是不是都不可以work/volunteer for company
?
感觉这份工作蛮有意思,想去体验一下。

no difference from working for ten years in immigration officer's eyes in
checking whether you violate the immigration law. |

Or is it even illegal to work/volunteer without any rewards?

illegal.
You might get away by taking cash and making sure that the employer keeps no
record of the transaction. But what is the point if you cannot even mention
it on your resume later?? In my opinion, it's simply not worth the risk.
