3 在念完Ph.D.
5184 | 2 For Bio/Chem, PhD is kinda necessary if you want to join a law firm right
away with your technical degree.
Why do you need to work 60-80/week? | c*******i 发帖数: 951 | 3 First, clients usually prefer a flat-fee for patent prosecutions, and you
cannot bill your every hour as if you are doing litigation.
Second, law school doesn't teach patent prosecution, and people learn it by
doing the real work. There is normally a three-year learning curve for
new associate doing patent prosecution, before they become efficient
and comfortable with billable hours.
For these two reasons, if the firm has a strict billable-hour requirement,
it is common for rookie patent prose

prosecution, no matter you have JD or not. I think it's a very bad idea,
but this seems to be a trend.
