y have? How many open positions are from BigLaws every year? How many studen
ts graduate from TOP 10 or 15 law schools every year? What's the chance that
a non-elite law school student can land a job in BigLaw?
You may sneeze at my weird idea: I do not expect that I should have a job fr
om BigLaw in the first place. (I am enrolled in a local school ranked around
50 with some scholarship.)

jobs, there aren't many middle-level jobs.
Make sure you don't fall all the way to 50k if you give up big-law.

I didn't say I "give up" biglaws. Btw, 50k is ok for me but "the more the be
tter" and I am definitely fighting for my future. Roughly, graduates' averag
e first-year salary of most law schools is actureally 70k-40k. I think your
paycheck is far beyond these numbers so you may not understand why 50k is ac
ceptable.
These are some information I learnd from this board:
1, although there are many big law jobs......
2, basically, only top5 or top10 law school

a few exceptions.
Regarding 3, roughly T1/3 in T15-30 get market-rate jobs. However, there is
a big difference for law schools in this range regarding job placement.
Iowa, Minn and WashingtonU are not the place to go if you are looking for
market-rate jobs, while job placement of Vandy, BC and ND are better than
others T15-30 schools.
Regarding 4 and 5, I know many Chinese who goto law-ranking school

e who made stupid decision to go to a non-elite school. The salary range of
my school is 50k-145k. So I will not be surprised if I land into this scope.
