First time in history for a private equity fund to sell its stake to a government,
although the PRC government won't have a voting right in Blackstone.
Very interesting...

primarily private equity funds. | c**d 发帖数: 3888 | 3 Can you talk about the implications? Is this a good time for Chinese-
speaking lawyers (not necessarily with connections in the PRC government) to
get into PE work? How does one get into PE?
If the PRC government doesn't have any voting rights, why is this
interesting for us? I mean, why should we treat this story any differently
than if PRC bought more US bonds?
Thank you. | b******e 发帖数: 95 | 4 "Can you talk about the implications?" - Probably not. I'm not an economist
or wall street analyst. :P
By and large, this is in an effort by the Chinese government to diversify
its foreign reserves and what's more, opens up a door for Blackstone to set
its footprint in the world's biggest market.
I think you meant to ask if it is a good time for a Chinese-speaking
attorney to break into corporate/M&A area (as M&A is all what PEIs do
anyways)? If that was the question, I would say - personally, | c**d 发帖数: 3888 | 5 Thank you, babeface. Your posts are always helpful.
I was under the impression that M&A is a specialized field. At least not as
general as "corporate." Based on what you said, it seems that's not case?
