partner in 2000. In her own words, in 96, very few competition. But now,
thinking about getting partner in 4-5 years is like a dream. Most work

Of course, a lot of the hours are not billed.

associateship if we practice in California in the future, at least there are
more Asian inventors/start-ups that may trust us more, or less?;)
Anyway, it is still early, let's first try to get through law shcool sound and
well and be ready to work our asses off for someone after graduation. I

here generally can't afford high billing rate. So they kind of use the
billable hours to compensate for that.
I think he could have gone to a top20 firm at that time(Mcdermott?). The
reason that he stayed with this firm is probably because his girlfriend (now
wife) took a job here with another top firm---my guess:)

that's the most tolerant to Asians.
Congratulations on your legal writing grade! I still feel that I can't write
well. Being able to "write well" has so many different meanings, and usually
it depends on who you talk to. I think I write OK when it comes down to the
guts of technical disclosures, but I feel inediquate when it comes to bluffing
(or "policy arguement" as they call it in law school). I still can't pict

know how you could pull this off. you have a happy family -- you have already
completed at least 50% of one's mission in life.

first tier schools in class 2006.
I also took a part-time job here on campus to have the tuition covered. Then
sometime I had to compromise the less important stuffs in life, like this
part-time job:) Don't know how much longer I can held it. It was such a
pain-in-the-neck for me last semester that I sometime regretted that I chose
to go through

BTW, how did you find the part-time job that got your tuition covered? I am
interested to know. I might not want to go to law school, because I hate
reading and writing (although I am good at logic, like most bio majors, I

It is understandable that so many bio majors want to switch to IP. Bio was too
hot in China in the recent years, but actually, bio majors here are not as
easy to find a job as Engineering or Chemistry.
A lot of Americans I know are heading this way too. If you read the job
prospect report, that is due to growth in IP. My friend went to a law school
and said that 1/3 of his classmates have PhD degree alread |

campus. Some are better than others. For example, in Texas, if your spouse is
a graduate assistant in any UT campus, you automatically pay in-state tuition.
After doing it, I can't say I would recommend it. There is just no enough time
to do everything well. It will affect your professional study.
