Those rights would apply even if couples moved away from the state where
they were originally married, some experts said.
“As long as the couple has a valid marriage license it doesn’t matter
where they reside,” said Steve Ralls, spokesman for Immigration Equality,
which advocates for immigration rights for same-sex couples.
但是之后它又说;
“You need to be legally married – married married,” said Philip Wolgin, a
senior policy analyst for immigration at the left-leaning Center for
American Progress. “The obvious issue for that is if you don’t live in a
state with marriage equality or if your partner lives in a country that
doesn’t recognize marriage equality, then it’s a problem.”
到底怎样啊。。。。。 |

Gay and lesbian couples who wed in states that allow same-sex marriage but
now live in Illinois will likely have their marriages recognized by the
federal government, though it might take time for the details on federal
benefits and protections to be worked out.
Camilla Taylor, attorney for the gay rights group Lambda Legal, said
President Barack Obama's administration in the coming months will have to
provide clarity on this subject to a number of federal agencies: "We should
expect some federal guidance from the IRS, for example, on how same-sex
couples will be treated in states like Illinois if they got married in a
state like Iowa, where they can legally marry."
