In April, 2004, Ford was jailed for life – with a minimum of 15 years –
for the murder of 21-year-old Amanda Champion, who had learning difficulties
. Ford strangled and cut Amanda’s throat before leaving her body on a waste
ground near her home in Ashford, Kent, in July, 2003.

Ford, a former factory worker, was arrested for Amanda’s murder in July,
2003, after calling the Samaritans and confessing to the crime, while
admitting he felt suicidal. Police at the time had no leads on the case and
the Samaritans worker decided to break the organisation’s strict
confidentiality code after Ford called and revealed: ‘I’ve killed a girl’
. The motive for Ford’s murder has never been revealed but a judge
expressed his horror that ‘Amanda happened to be walking through that area
of woodland at the wrong time’.

Apparently there’s two in the hall and they have pretty mermaid engravings
on them which just adds to the whole ambience. For reference they’re 5ft
long.
The guy who grabbed it was a polish chef who worked there, love the idea he
had clocked those every day at work thinking ‘they’ll be useful one day’
