Police Find Prostitution At Business

prostitution operation.

Canton Police Chief Michael Echols said his office started getting
complaints about the business, located at 1351 S. Trade Days Blvd. Suite 103
, which was first called Happy Feet. The name was later changed to Foot Wash
.
“We started getting some complaints from people going in there for a
massage,” Echols said.
After enough evidence of suspicious activity was gathered, two undercover
officers went in and two arrests were made.
Yong Ma, 30, Canton was arrested for promotion of prostitution and operation
of unlicensed massage therapist.
You Genzhen, 46, Canton, was arrested for prostitution and operation of
unlicensed message therapist.
The business, which was set up for men only, wouldn’t talk to women, Echols
said.
Many of these types of businesses, also known as “happy endings” spas or
massage parlors, are set up where the customer goes in for massages and it
ends with sexual contact and sexual acts, Echols explained.
“You go in for your massage, they start and you either say ‘no’ and leave
, or if you say ‘yes,’ they solicit for more money,” Echols said.
Reserve Canton Police Officer Eric Whitaker said a citizen had advised him
that the business had several listings on Craigslist advertising massage in
Canton.
“After several weeks of surveillance, we noticed several male customers and
no females, at the location,” Whitaker’s report said.
The business’ name then changed from Happy Feet to Foot Wash.
Then late last week two officers went under cover. The first was admitted to
the back room.
According to the report, once Genzhen indicated what she could do for the
officer, he consented but left to retrieve more money at which time he made
contact with police.
The other undercover officer was in another room and Genzhen was giving him
a massage when officers entered the building to make arrests.
Echols said that because Canton has never had to deal with such a business
or operation like this before, they contacted the Dallas Police Department
for assistance, but were not given help due to liability.
He further noted that at the time of the undercover operation, there were no
other customers in the business.
Echols went on to say that the owners are believed to have three other
locations, but not in Van Zandt County.
Officers seized $957 in cash from Yong Ma along with the $130 used by
undercover officers for the sting.
They also seized $819 from You Genzhen.
According to Canton Police Sergeant Brad Allison’s report, an Immigration
and Customers Enforcement (ICE) unit was called in to conduct a human
trafficking case and that investigation is still ongoing. | r*********e
