The Slingerland lab a seeks Postdoctoral Research Fellows for molecular
biology and bioinformatics projects. Projects investigate1) novel roles of
p27 in transcriptional regulation and epigenetics; 2) links between ER and
NFKB, obesity, inflammation, and breast cancer stem cells. Projects require
skill and judgment, in-depth knowledge of molecular biology, protocol/
method development, organizing and implementing complex research plans,
analysis of data, and publication. A Postdoctoral Associate or Associate
Scientist is also sought to assist with Bioinformatic analysis of ChIP Seq/
RNA Seq, ATAC Seq, Hi-Seq, Gradient Seq… and analysis of human gene
mutation or expression data sets relevant to human cancer prognosis. Minimum
qualifications include: 1) Ph.D. in a relevant field; 2) broad knowledge of
cancer research, human cell/tissue culture, molecular biological techniques
, and animal models; 3) prior experience in epigenetics/bioinformatics
desirable; 4) ability to plan, organize and meet deadlines; 5) must be
highly motivated and detail oriented; 6) excellent communication skills (
verbal and written), and ability to collaborate with others; 7) ability to
successfully manage multiple tasks simultaneously and independently; 8)
demonstrated problem solving skills. For the Bioinformatics position,
knowledge of molecular biology is desirable but not required.
