Position Summary
METiS is seeking an experienced, strategic, entrepreneurial individual to
lead our New Product development. The position will be responsible of
identifying unmet medical needs across a broad therapeutic platform that
demands novel formulation and delivery technology solutions. The candidate
will lead our business development team to gather insights from healthcare
providers, patient groups, and brand managers in pharma companies, and work
with our cross-disciplinary drug development team to define product roadmap.
The ideal applicant will have a strong background in strategic marketing /
new product planning and possess sufficient medical knowledge. The top
applicant will have experience working in healthcare consulting, or new
product / brand management teams in pharma companies.
Key responsibilities
• Identify unmet clinical needs where drug formulation and delivery
technologies can bring differentiable patient value
• Lead a team of business analysts to interview healthcare
providers (MDs), patient groups, and brand managers in pharma companies
• Guide business and product strategy for 505(b)(2) new drug
applications
• Communicate with drug development team to outline high-level
product profile
• Drive collaboration and service opportunities such as co-
development programs with pharma and biotech companies
• Mentor and train Business Analysts as needed
• Some travel required
Minimum Qualifications
• 5 years business development or new product planning experience,
preferably in pharma and biotech companies, or
• 3 years strategic consulting experience in related industries (
healthcare, PMP)
• In-depth knowledge of the drug research and development process
and medical treatment
• Ability to work cross-functionally within and beyond the Business
Development team—experience working with both internal and external
multidisciplinary teams including R&D, Commercial, Regulatory is a plus
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to
“think on your feet”
• High emotional intelligence and ability to forge relationships
with healthcare providers and patients.
• Demonstrated ability in working with highly skilled teams in a
fast paced, entrepreneurial and technical setting
Preferred Qualifications
• Advanced degree, MBA is a plus
• Medical Doctor and medical related background is highly desirable
