Engineer Degree with Automotive Experience. They will pay a base salary of
$80-90K/year Maybe more DOE a year. They will also pay relocation if needed.

The Powerise® product line consists of a family of linear actuators
designed for automotive closures. The product is typically applied in the
automotive industry to provide remote power functionality for the rear
closures in SUV’s Minivans, Crossovers and Sedans. This market segment is
rapidly growing as the vehicle option rate and model penetration continue to
increase. Stabilus has been a pioneer and market leader with the state of
the art technology in the segment. The technical system covers a broad
scope of technical disciplines including:
• DC Motor
• Planetary Gearbox
• Lead Screw
• High Yield Mechanical Springs
• Gas Springs
• Ball Joints
• Electronic Position Sensors
• EMC Suppression and Protection
• Dynamic Sealing
• Electrical Connection
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Sterling Heights Engineering Manager, you will be
responsible for application development of automotive power closures. Your
primary goals are to meet customer requirements and achieve the market share
and profitability objectives in the appointed customer base, specifically:
• Technical representative for Stabilus with responsibility to
ensure application development deliverables meet or exceed customer and
internal requirements.
• Develop application and product solutions in support of new
business growth,
• Develop and analyze complex multi-body kinematic simulations
• Responsible to integrate the diverse technical components as a
system solution.
• Plan and execute application development milestones
• Supply technical APQP deliverables according to customer and
internal timing requirements.
• Develop application and product solutions to minimize product
cost and maximize profitability.
• Adhere to the TS16949:2002 guidelines in developing and meeting
customer deliverable requirements
• Resolve technical problems with solutions which address root
cause and prevention of reoccurrence.
• Provide launch and manufacturing support to customer assembly
facilities.
Qualifications
• BS in Mechanical Engineering, BSEE also considered
• Min 5 years’ experience in product or application engineering
• Capability to engineer complex systems comprised of diverse
technologies
• Background in Electronics and Acoustics is a plus
• Experience at an Automotive Tier I is preferred
• Excellent Communication and presentation skills.
• Excellent Problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Capability with standard engineering disciplines such as DVP&R,
DFMEA and APQP.
• Strong academic engineering knowledge especially in the areas of
statics, dynamics and thermodynamics.
• German and/or Spanish Language Skills are a plus
Work location
Your primary work location will be in Sterling Heights MI. Some travel will
be required to Stabilus and Customer locations
