Purchasing Assistant
Position Description:
You are in charge of coordinating the procurement and distribution of
materials, parts for the organization. You need demonstrated analytical,
problem solving, customer service, computer, communication, and negotiation
skills. Must be self-motivated and be able to demonstrate the ability to
work with little supervision.
Job Responsibilities:
• Assist Buyer’s daily work
• Coordinate with other departments to determine material needs and
required schedules.
• Price control to ensure company’s desirable profit margin
• Correspond with overseas vendors regarding inventory needs.
• Follow up purchase orders.
• Expedite purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery of product.
• Manage extensive procurement filing system
• Create and maintain a database for master list of suppliers and
contact information, as well as list of product components, sources, prices
and lead times.
• Perform other administrative duties as required.
Requirements:
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Access).
• Knowledge of MRP/ERP system is a plus
• Ability to accurately handle, prioritize and complete multiple
tasks while managing interruptions in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to interact well with vendors, office staff and warehouse
staff.
• Must have a positive attitude and confidence in abilities
• Strong organizational and problem solving skills.
• Fluent in English and Chinese language

• Review, interpret and analyze data via the computer system to
determine inventory needs.
• Coordinate with other departments to determine material needs and
required schedules.
• Price control to ensure company’s desirable profit margin.
• Correspond with overseas vendors regarding inventory needs.
• Prepare and issue purchase orders.
• Expedite purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery of product.
• Monitor sales and forecast changes and alter PO deliveries as
needed.
• Ensure quality and safety standards are met.
• “Go-to” person for procurement, process transactions,
anticipate and/or investigate causes for delays and ensure corrective action
is taken.
• Create and maintain a database for master list of suppliers and
contact information, as well as list of product components, sources, prices
and lead times.
• Manage extensive procurement filing system.
• Perform other administrative duties as required.
Requirements:
• Fluent in English and Chinese language (read, Write & speak)
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Access)
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, two year of relevant
procurement experience
• Knowledge of MRP/ERP system is a plus
• Ability to accurately handle, prioritize and complete multiple
tasks while managing interruptions in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to interact well with vendors, office staff and warehouse
staff
• Must have a positive attitude and confidence in abilities
• Strong organizational and problem solving skills
• Travel up to 20% of the time
