JOB TITLE: Material Engineer
DESCRIPTION:
US Citizenship Required
Bachelors Degree Required
Secret Clearance Preferred
Designs, evaluates, plans, tests, and operates electrical, electronic,
mechanical, and/or computer components, equipment and systems.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Performs engineering work concerned with the design, evaluation, planning
, testing and operation of electrical, electronic, mechanical, and/or
computer components, equipment and systems for commercial, government,
military and/or scientific uses.
2. Perform material analysis for design and failure investigation .
Identifies and documents clients' functional requirements.
3. Reviews, writes, and provides updates to technical documentation.
4. Analyzes research & development plans.
5. May provide guidance and work leadership to less-experienced engineers
and/or engineering support staff.
6. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.
7. Participates in special projects as required.
Bachelors Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
2-5 years of related engineering experience.
PREFERRED/DESIRED EXPERIENCE:
1. Two years of experience with Submarine Systems in the area of design and
modifications of communications, control, deployed or antenna systems .
2. Two years of experience with configuration changes, and documentation .
3. Metallurgy experience with knowledge of effects of temperature,
vibration and corrosion .
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
1. Comprehensive knowledge of engineering principles, methods, and
techniques.
2. Knowledge of the associated hardware, software, and equipment.
3. Professional certification in one or more specific technologies may be
required, depending on job assignment.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
The work is typically performed at client site locations, which requires
proper safety precautions; work may require some physical effort in the
handling of light materials, boxes or equipment.
Successful applicants must either have an active government security
clearance or the ability to receive approval upon position acceptance.
This position requires the candidate to travel at least 10% of the time.
