support invention. IV Lab works on the very beginning stages of invention,
validating the concept and refining the technology to demonstrate its
potential for commercial or humanitarian use. IV Lab believes in the power

for a breadth of expertise across fields including computer network
security, computational modeling, electrical and mechanical engineering,
software development, chemistry, microbiology, materials science,
nanotechnology, physics, medical devices, and aerospace engineering. IV Lab

laboratories.
The Product Development (PD) group focuses on the late stage projects at IV
Lab to extend technical solutions by developing products for market pilot
testing, transferring design to licensees and manufacturing partners, and
enabling new spinout companies. PD group members consist of seasoned
technical staff and project management professionals with product
development experience in a variety of industries including aerospace
engineering, rocket science, consumer products, medical devices, energy
system, and food science. In addition to our internal capabilities in
electromechanical/electro-optical system design, analysis, and rapid
prototype capabilities, we leverage external expertise in market research,
usability study, and low volume manufacturing.
The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the design, analysis,
prototyping, testing, and technology transfer within the PD group at IV Lab.
The successful candidate will be comfortable working both independently and
support multi-disciplinary projects involving 8-10 brilliant colleagues in
a collaborative environment of engineers and scientists.
Key Responsibilities:
•Generate customer requirements based on validated customer needs and
translate them into product requirements
•Perform product design, structural and thermal analysis, and rapid
prototyping
•Prepare test protocol and execute engineering testing
•Create and review engineering drawings (notably ASME Y14.5 and IV Lab
standards)
•Clearly communicate product development updates to senior management,
internal and external team members, and commercial partners overseas
•Accountable for project deliverable accordingly for performance,
quality, project budget and timeline
•Create project schedule and budget (resources, expenses and capital)
•Identify, manage, communicate and mitigate project risks
•Execution of project tasks in compliance of relevant regulatory
requirements
Key Qualifications and Required Skills:
•BSME with 7+ years of relevant experience; advanced degree is a plus
•Proficiency with a 3-D CAD package, such as Solidworks, Pro/E; etc.
•3+ years related hands on experience in managing projects and/or
programs; experiences on products for use in developing countries are a plus
•Successful results in working with contract engineering and
manufacturing firms; with Chinese company is a plus.
•Demonstrated strategic thinker with sound engineering judgment, a
solid organizer and an excellent communicator to numerous audiences
•Experience in any of the following: development of high volume
consumer products, risk management, design engineering, manufacturing
engineering, process control/ engineering, product assembly/manufacturing,
quality control/engineering, and/or supplier management is a strong plus
•Ability to speak Mandarin is required
•Strong analytical and problem solving skills | z******2
