Job/Role characteristics
The System Architect will take principal architectural design of lighting
control systems, which required integration of the most advanced lighting
and control systems, alone or as part of network system, to achieve energy
saving, scene setting, easy maintenance, beautification and other benefits
from application of functional room, commercial or residential building to
whole city.
The System Architect is directly responsible for the architecture in major
HW/SW projects, which have a long-term character, are complex, and are
divided in several sub-projects for the creation of subsystems. This implies
the need for a sufficient awareness and involvement in the lighting systems
designs (both HW and SW) to be able to guide the developments in line with
the roadmap requirements.
The System Architect will take the principal architectural decisions on
subsystem partitioning, interfaces, interface roadmaps, data partitioning,
data structures, definition of basic elements (modules or components),
technologies to be applied and development methods to be used.
In alliance and integration project, the system architect is directly
responsible for system level integration with the solutions of alliance
partners and acquisitions. He/She needs to assess the impact of external
solutions on the product portfolio at the System, Software and Hardware
level. The system architect contributes to due-diligence exercises of
potential acquisitions.
The System Architect leads a team of (Hardware/Software) Architects,
involved in the total project.
The System Architect is involved in long-term definition and development of
hardware or software platforms. Finally, he/she participates in relevant
platforms for new standards and protocols.

or software platforms and indicates long-term (2-4 years) expectations on
developments within his/her application area.

in modular, easy-to-maintain and extendible subsystems; building on
subsystems from both internal developments and from partner developments.
• Ensures the consistency and efficient integration of subsystems
or modules in modular, easy-to maintain and extendible hardware/software
that can meet future product specifications.
• Determines the required HW/SW interfaces in close co-operation
with software resp. hardware experts and contributes in the definition of
new SW resp. HW platforms.
