Primary Job Responsibilities

organization, this team is responsible for building infrastructure to
monitoring eBay site search quality, enable search engine debugging and
issue fixing, validate and guarantee data and algorithm quality used by

Job Requirements

Job Responsibilities
eBay Search Metrics is building world-class engineering teams in Shanghai,
focusing on search related systems and services such as user behavior/intent
analytics and crowd sourcing judgments. The team’s work will directly
impact eBay revenue by improving both search engine performance and user
experience on eBay.
We are seeking a data mining analyst to provide applied research and data
modeling expertise in this area. This is an exciting position, providing the
candidate an opportunity to solve web scale and high impact business
problems in the search engine space using statistical methodologies , data
modeling, machine learning and information retrieval.
• Work with business and analytics partners to support overall eBay
business optimization;
• Apply advanced statistical/econometric modeling tools to develop

eBay's APD (Analytic Platform & Delivery) China team is looking for a senior
technologist to join its world-class Product Engineering team, working on
the world's largest business intelligence and analytic platform. As a first-
level MTS (Member of Technical Staff), you will be leading design,
development and implementation of APD's new Hadoop-based solutions/products
that enable eBay's global business users to gain deeper business insights
and make smarter business decisions. We expect our candidates to be deeply

Job Responsibilities
- Lead development efforts, coordinate with Data Warehouse and BI Engineers/
Architects as well as Business Analyst and Product Manager groups to design
and develop new enterprise Hadoop-based solutions, and to ensure quality and
a positive user experience for all delivered solutions
- Technical lead for large, complex analytic platform projects. Develop
strategic and tactical implementation plans considering key business

requirements. Understand eBay's unstructured data sets. Assist in
documenting requirements, resolving ambiguities and conflicts, and gather
consensus.

Job Requirements

- Deep knowledge on Hadoop Ecosystem which including Data Processing,
Analytics and System administration.
- Mastery of developing high performance code with Map-Reduce, Hive and
HBase for handling huge volumes of data.
- Has plenty of experience on building analytics from unstructured data on
Hadoop platform.
