Title:Director of Engineering, Platform
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
• Manage a team of highly skilled engineers delivering and maintaining
SaaS platform solutions and components
•Manage delivery of reliable, scalable, and stable SaaS infrastructure
, developer frameworks and operating framework components to increase
development velocity and quality of service
•Manage resources, budgets and a platform vision and architectural
roadmap while collaborating with peers to drive the company roadmap
•Interact with Program Management Office to coordinate various
activities of evaluation, integration, and development life-cycle and Go
Live activities
•Interact and coordinate with other Product Development teams, QA
Teams, SCM Team, Data Center Operations teams, and Data warehousing teams
during various phases of SDLC
•Commit to software delivery schedules and manage resources
accordingly
• Report/communicate status to senior management
Education and Experience:
• BA/BS Computer Science, MS degree preferred
• 10+ years’ experience with Web based SaaS solutions, Web Services
API, and Web applications
• 7+ years’ experience managing teams with highly talented engineers/
architects that delivered on SaaS technologies built to scale for high
traffic web sites
•4+ years’ experience manage and/or working within a platform team
•Experience introducing new infrastructure and framework technologies
for RDBMS, storage, message queues, caching, billing/payments, non-SQL
databases etc, systems for SaaS solutions
• Strong knowledge of open source technology stacks for SaaS, must
have hands-on design and development experience
• Experience working with data center operations teams managing server
farms for large web sites
•Exposure to SOA and Web Services based solutions and implementations
•Excellent communication skills (listening, verbal, and written) and
ability to communicate architecture and design to business and technical
audience
•Experience defining and enforcing software development processes for
high velocity and rapid application development
• Experience resolving conflicts, decision making, and mediating
priorities
• Experience with agile methodologies
• Project management experience and/or certifications |
