in algorithm, EDA is a good choice for you. Long-term career growth could be
better for people with good backgrounds on algorithm and math (Chinese
students and engineers are often more competitive on these.). EDA is an area
that good R&D engineers are valued more than managers. EDA pay for senior
engineers is not low. As Leslie mentioned, work-life balance of EDA is in
general quite good.
If you want to never feel boring but still have a good work-life balance,
EDA is a good choice for you.

发帖数: 4363 | 13 我phd就是做eda的，也做arch。后来毕业s跟c的offer都有拿到，不过后来我还是去做
chip了。做eda最大的问题是美国市场很成熟了，大多数主流tool都是incremental
update，看看现在iccad跟dac都堕落到啥样子，已经都不算一线会议了。说真的，如果
phd是这个背景的，要么转去做chip，要么转去做纯软件，前途都比坐eda好。
当然，如果日后想回国，另说。 |
