Sr. Engineer in Computer Vision and Perception
Responsibilities:
1. Design core computer vision and perception frameworks, both algorithms
and embedded code.
2. Establish computer vision and sensor data collection and testing
framework for algorithm simulation and performance evaluation
3. Work with product team for product development integration.
4. Build system level prototypes and proof of concepts including sensor/
embedded system bring-up on a vehicle platform.
Qualifications:
1. M.S. or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical, Robotics and Computer
Engineering or equivalent
2. 5+ years developing computer vision and perception algorithms
3. Experience with monocular and stereo computer vision hardware and
software architectures
4. Experience in C, C++, and openCV in an embedded computing environment
5. Experience with SLAM, and deep sensor fusion between vision systems and
other sensors (i.e. Lidar, Radar, inertial, GPS),
6. Experience with ARM, FPGA, Nvidia GPU and similar computing architectures
7. Strong analytical problem solving and algorithm design skills from first
principles
8. Experience using data driven development/testing approaches and
establishing objective performance, robustness, and quality metrics for
perception systems
9. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to communicate
complex technical issues to cross-functional teams
10. Excellent collaborator in the context of a dynamic team spread around
the world
11. Self-starter, self-motivated, able to work independently, strong
entrepreneurial spirit, and comfortable with risk and uncertainty
12. International travel (up to 20%)
Preferred Qualification:
1. PhD in computer vision object segmentation, tracking and classification
or similar
2. Experience with vision + lidar/radar/inertial sensor fusion
3. Experience with semi-supervised machine learning and deep learning
approaches
4. Experience shipping embedded computer vision systems on a dynamic robotic
platform (automobile, UAV, robot, etc.)
5. Have designed, built and/or enjoy robotics or flying remote controlled
aerial vehicle

vision technologies, including 2D/3D feature detection and matching, 3D
reconstruction, point-cloud processing
• Deep understanding of structure-from-motion, bundle adjustment,
multi-view geometry, visual-inertial odometry, SLAM and Kinect-type sensor
technology
• Experience in practical machine learning
• 10+ years of development experience in large, high-quality software
systems,
especially computer vision and graphics systems
• Demonstrated leadership in successful delivery of computer vision
systems or
products
• Excellent C/C++ programming skills, proficient with scripting
languages (e.g.
Python or Matlab), and extensive experience with OpenCV, PCL, CGAL and etc
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, and be able to function
at the
 executive management level.
• Experience in developing real-time computer vision system is highly
desired,
especially in accelerating computer vision using GPUs
• Experience in eye tracking, human gesture recognition, body pose
estimation,
2D/3D object tracking a plus
• Experience in mobile and web-based platform development a plus
• Strong research/problem solving skills and keep up with the latest
findings and
trends in the domain of computer vision.
• Passion for quality products, software development principles and
best practices.
