We are looking for Test Engineer Bioinformatics for our direct client in
South San Francisco, CA. This is a contract position. Below is the job

- The ideal candidate will be assisting with testing an Ion Sequencing
system that is used for diagnostic purposes.
- The MOST IMPORTANT SKILLS are the programming languages. The ideal
candidate must be strong in C++ and/or a combination of Java/Perl or Java/
Python
Duties:
-Develop test plan and test cases for complex software system, including web
based data analysis software, data management software and bioinformatics
algorithm software components.
-Perform manual testing on web application.
-Analyzes testing results, help dev team to locate issues.
-Provide bioinformatics support to internal and external groups.
-Perform testing automation.
-Provide guidance to off shore testing team.
Skills:
-Solid experience with Unix/Linux
-Experience with a programming language (C++/Java, and Perl/Python)
Understanding of software testing principles, tool sets, understanding of
data analysis principles Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Desired Skills:
-Selenium Web Driver with Java
-Solid knowledge of next gen sequencing, solid experience in common
bioinformatics tools Experience with defect tracking tools, source control
tools and document tracking tools.
Education: BS or higher in computer science, engineering, bioinformatics, or
related field.
